It’s been a while since I’ve written a post. I decided to take August off this year to enjoy the summer. It’s been a lovely break and I’m recharged and ready to go. There is so much going on this season in the run up to Christmas with Halloween, Bonfire Night and lots of cosy nights in. I’m looking forward to having more time at home to do lots of faffing but first job on my to do list is to write a post for Sainsbury’s Home. The team at Camron PR kindly asked me to choose a few pieces to style in my home. I’ve picked out my favourites from their Moroccan Lux and Printmakers range. I’ve kept it simple and hope it gives you a few ideas to get styling and enjoy the season.
I’m a big fan of the botanical trend at the moment. It’s such an easy way of bringing the outside in to your home and enjoying nature during the winter months.
Coffee table styling
Can you guess which plant is fake and which is real? The smaller one is a Jane Packer Aloe succulent and is faux. I’ve added cuttings of lavender from my garden mixed with a few stems of bought flowers to soften the look.
The supermarkets have started stocking a variety of cute vegetables especially this time of year. I’m always buying these mini sized pumpkins. I’m not sure whether you are supposed to eat them but they make great decorations. They add such a great pop of of autumnal colour to this black coffee table. I’m planning on painting them gold to give a more glamours look for Christmas.
And finally I’ve included a Moroccan style lantern called the Marrakech White Cut Out Lantern . It’s so intricate and pretty and it ‘s super safe too as it has a battery operated candle inside giving out a warming orange glow.
It’s just not quite cold enough yet to light the fire but you might as well make the most of it as a feature to sit around and enjoy. I was going to add some logs to the fireplace but they can be a bit messy and I thought I’d try something different. So I’ve taken the fake candles from my bathroom and styled the larger version of the Marrakech lantern along with fern cuttings from my garden.
The glass vase is from Sainsbury’s Home. I love this it has such a glamours look and catches the light beautifully. I’ll definitely be bringing this one out for December. And the cute little bird (looks a bit like a robin to me) makes the perfect autumn scene.
I couldn’t resist adding this final pic reflecting the warmer tones coming in this season of rich velvets, blues and purples. So next time you are in the supermarket take a few minutes to loiter in the home section and pick out a few bits to style your home.
